Summary: Petra makes a promise to a dying comrade.
The first time Petra comforts a dying comrade is on her second expedition.
The last time she left the safety of the walls, she was fortunate enough to only have close calls and not actually die. Sure, circumstances we’re awful enough to make her literally piss herself, but she survived and so did the people in her squad. This time around, however, she’s lost everyone except the kind-eyed blond who told her not to be afraid before they left earlier and now she’s losing him too.
She doesn’t know him, she barely remembers his name, but somehow she feels like she’s losing someone very near and dear to her heart. Her eyes water as she presses her palms against the massive wound left by the titan that lies dead at their feet.
Stop the bleeding, she tells herself. Stop the fucking bleeding.

Random drawing of Petra because I was starting to like her character…and then that episode where stuff happens ugh why…I don’t understand their 3D maneuver gear…

For nada2221, who requested Petra Ral. I’m not familiar with this character, so I hope I did her justice!

I’ve been in a doodling mood lately!

I don't ever want to see a face like that
So I've left my clothes on the river bank
I am an American loading my gun
Pushing little children with plastic ones

Summary: Petra, Mikasa, and a discussion on haircuts.
Notes: Eh same Petra-survives!AU as this, I suppose. Bear with me. I’m a huge fan of narratives with symbolic haircuts (e.g. Mulan, Sakura Haruno).Like most people, Petra finds herself entranced by Mikasa’s beautiful black hair. The silky strands always fall flat and straight, brushing past her chin and following over the red scarf she wears daily. No matter the weather, it doesn’t frizz or curl or do anything beyond sitting smoothly. And the colour, Petra thinks, is lovely in its complete lack of colour. She’s been complimented for her own coppery shade before, but Petra has seen other people with hair like hers. Mikasa’s hair, however, is entirely unique. She thinks that maybe Levi’s hair is a few shades away from Mikasa’s, but it lacks the same luster that Petra admires about the girl’s.
Entranced, Petra can’t help it when one evening, in the middle of washing dishes together, she points out to Mikasa, “Your hair is getting long.”
